Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Trust – We Supplied A Pump

We are passionate about water and the local environment, and we love knowing that our contributions to the trust will benefit the canal and the diverse wildlife it supports. We feel a sense of pride knowing our pump is part of a larger plan to help regenerate a small piece of local history.

Who are the Lichfield and Hatherton Canal Trust?

The Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust is dedicated to restoring the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals. Their mission is to create a green and blue corridor for the benefit of both the local and wider community. They aim to make these canals available for navigation. This restoration work not only preserves historical waterways, but also enhances the local environment while providing recreational opportunities for the community.

The Requirements

The pump needed to have a high tolerance for sediment, debris and other obstructions found in the water.
They wanted a reliable pump that could run continually to keep the nearby canal topped up.
They needed a pump that was small and powerful while remaining energy efficient.

The Installation & Setup

LHCRT volunteers Mike, Dave and Pete worked together to set up and configure the abstraction point. Once the pump was installed, it helped protect the pipework from sediment and debris present in the water while continually supplying water to top up the main canal.

Supporting Local Charities

At Pump Express, we love supporting local communities and charities, and it has been a pleasure working with the LHCRT. LHCRT is self-funded and must raise every penny needed to restore the canals, so all donations are gratefully received. You can donate on their website here: https://lhcrt.org.uk/donate/
