Do I have a break tank installed?

Break tanks are cold water storage tanks, situated between the main water supply into the property and the boiler system. Header Tanks are usually situated in the loft. Both tanks are designed to collect and store mains water for use within your home.

If you have a new house, originally fitted with a Combi Boiler or HP Megaflow system, you will not have a header tank installed and it’s highly unlikely that you would have a break tank either. If this is the case, you will need to select ‘I DON’T have a Break or Header Tank Installed’

If you have an older property and have replaced your gravity fed system with a Combi Boiler or HP Cylinder then occasionally the header tank is left empty in the loft. If this is the case and you would like to re-use your existing tank, choose the ‘I HAVE a Break or Header Tank’ option
