APLOS Clear 2-in-1 Replacement Cartridge Filter

APLOS Clear is a compact DIY solution designed to improve the quality of your drinking water right under the sink. It features a 2-in-1 filter with a 0.5-micron carbon block and a 5-micron sediment cotton cartridge.

This product is only a replacement cartridge filter for the APLOS Clear and does not include the filter housing. 

Stage 1:

Uses a 5-micron sediment cotton cartridge that is designed to remove particles and impurities from water. These cartridges are typically made from cotton, which is wound around a core to create a dense filter medium.  The primary function of this is to act as a pre-filter, removing larger particles before the water undergoes further purification processes via the 0.5 micron carbon block.

Stage 2:

Consisting of a 0.5 micron carbon block that uses activated carbon to remove contaminants from water. The “0.5 micron” rating indicates the size of the particles the filter can remove; in this case, it can filter out particles as small as 0.5 microns.

Product Safety Notices:

– Designed for use with cold water supply only.
– Avoid using the system with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality unless it has been properly disinfected.
– Do not use this system on water containing hardness greater than 50 mg/L without pre-treatment to remove hardness
– If the filter is idle for more than 2 weeks, clean the filter inside and replace the cartridge.

Filter Lifespan:

– The filter has a capacity of 6000 litres, and recommended replacement is every 6 months.
– (Please note this will vary according to water usage and feed quality)

Filter Replacement Steps:

1. Shut off water supply to unit using the water isolation valve.
2. Run tap to remove any excess water.
3. Twist the housing anti-clockwise.
4. Using wrench to unscrew the housing body.
5.  Take out the old cartridge and load with the new one, then install back in the same way.
6. Turn on the water supply to unit using the water isolation valve.
7. Flush filter for 5 minutes before using the filtered water.
8. Turn off the tap after 5 minutes and check for any leaks or drips via the in and out ports of the filter housing.
9. If you notice any dripping, make sure that tubes are inserted to the limit of the push-fit connection.
