Variable Speed Pump Controllers

The Variable Speed Controllers (Inverters) as opposed to Fixed Speed Controllers are more intelligent and will automatically adjust the performance of the pump to suit the demand and maintain a constant operating pressure which can be set and adjusted by the user. This makes them more energy efficient leading to reduced running costs.

The controller senses a drop in pressure to start the pump e.g. when a tap or shower is turned on a drop in pressure in the pipework is sensed and the pump kicks in. It switches off the pump when the flow stops, so when the tap or shower is switched off. If there is demand water demand from multiple outlets the controller will adjust the performance of the pump to maintain the set operating pressure.

Variable Speed Controllers also protect the pump from dry running and current overload.
